As the weather continues to improve, the city renews its love for the beautiful game and with the Impact hosting three straight home games, it’s the perfect chance to enjoy the start of summer by taking in a soccer game at Stade Saputo.
First place in the East
Saturday, May 31 vs. New England Revolution (Get your tickets »)
The New England Revolution is the top team in the Eastern Conference in 2014 and has done so with a young roster that plays an exciting brand of soccer. The team’s top four goal scorers average out to just 23 years old, and have scored almost 75% of their team’s goals.
With the Impact coming off a solid performance in Toronto on Wednesday in Canadian Championship play, this Saturday’s matchup may just be the turning point of the season.
For the Voyageurs Cup
Wednesday, June 4 vs. Toronto FC (Get your tickets »)
The Impact has the upper edge in the home and away aggregate goal series after tying Toronto 1-1 at BMO Field this past Wednesday, by scoring that important away goal, but TFC will be a hungry group with lots to prove in the second leg.
Remember last season’s 6-0 drubbing when the Reds visited Stade Saputo last year in ACC play? Surely TFC does!
An added bonus, a victory on home soil would be a first for the Impact after winning on foreign soil in both its previous Canadian titles. Wouldn’t you like to see you bleu-blanc-noir hoist the Voyageurs Cup on home soil in person?
Return of our former captain
Wednesday, June 11, vs. D.C. United (Get your tickets »)
After playing D.C. United on the road to a 1-1 draw last week, the Montreal Impact will welcome its former and first ever captain in MLS Davy Arnaud to town for a rare midweek regular season game. However, team captain Davy will not be the only attraction in town as the revamped D.C. roster includes the likes of US international Eddie Johnson and the exhilarating striker Fabian Espindola.
The Impact held off the Eastern Conference’s third best side for 85 minutes before they tied up the game at RFK stadium. Could the bleu-blanc-noir ride the energy of its supporters to a victory over the back and red this time?
