Final, A-League
In only its second season, the Montreal Impact becomes champion. After beating Los Angeles in the Semifinals, the Bleu-blanc-noir welcome the Colorado Foxes at Claude-Robillard. Jean Harbor’s free kick in the first half will be enough and the 8,169 supporters at the stadium can celebrate this first title.

Final, USL
Beating rival Rochester in the quarterfinals, then the Syracuse Salty Dogs in the semifinals, the Montreal Impact face pre-MLS Seattle Sounders for the USL championship. Once more, the Claude-Robillard Sports Complex is the venue for the final game of the season and the Impact spoils its supporters by winning 2-0. Not in the shape of his life because of a virus, Mauricio Vincello scores the winning goal in the 33rd minute and wins the MVP award.

First leg, CONCACAF Champions League Quarterfinals
This is the biggest stage: for the first time, the Impact is in the CONCACAF Champions League knockout round and play against Mexican giant Santos Laguna. Not a lot of experts can foresee a positive result for the hosts, but a brace by legend Eduardo Sebrango make the 55,571 supporters in Olympic Stadium explode with joy.

First leg, USL Final
Crossing the country from coast to coast is a tiring trip, even if the flight is uneventful. In an All-Canadian USL Final, with the first leg being played in British Columbia, the Impact gets in front twice but the Whitecaps are able to level the score. Just a few seconds before injury time, Eddie Sebrango gives the Bleu-blanc-noir a lead to bring back to Montreal.

Return leg, USL Final
One week later, about 4,500 kilometres east, Stade Saputo gets to host its first Final. The one-goal lead and the three away goals scored in BC mean the Impact have a great hand before kickoff is whistled and the stands are lit. The locals do not feel like letting this one slip, scoring thrice in 12 minutes before the Whitecaps reply just before the stroke of half-time. Montreal wins its third playoff championship.

Return leg, Amway Canadian Championship Semifinal
It’s a game of inches. This good old cliché takes its full meaning in this Canadian Championship return leg: after a 2-1 loss in Edmonton, it was mandatory to either limit Edmonton’s attacks or win by two goals. The Impact look like following that recipe by taking a three-goal lead, but the Albertans score twice in three second-half minutes. Hope is dim, but the Bleu-blanc-noir are awarded a late, late penalty in stoppage time. Captain Bernier takes matter into his own feet and freezes the keeper before dispatching the ball in the bottom right corner to send the Impact in the Final. A sign of things to come in this Cup and Champions League run which would end at Olympic Stadium against Club América in a tense continental final.

First leg, CONCACAF Champions League Semifinals
The only win during the knockout phase of the 2015 CONCACAF Champions League came against Alajuelense and it was never in doubt. After only 15 minutes, it was done and dusted thanks to the Argentine connection’s input: Piatti opened the scoring in the 9th minute before Cabrera finished Donadel’s corner a few minutes later.

The very first game in the Eastern Semifinal for the Impact went well; unfortunately, the away goal conceded to the Crew would end up being very damaging in the away leg, which the Impact lost 3-1 after overtime.
